John Kempster: John Kempster is a Queensland, Innisfail Based emerging artist who works from his studio located at his Goondi Hill home. John has recently entered semi retirement from a long career in Engineering, with experience as a Tradesman, Draftsman and Engineer. Retirement has allowed him time to study visual arts at Tropical North Queensland TAFE. He now is enjoying his true passion of producing fine arts. During his studies over the last 3 years many works of painting, drawing, sculpture and ceramics have been lovingly produced. Many of these have been exhibited, some at the Innisfail & District show, others at the Innisfail Biennial and he has also had his first solo exhibition at a local showing to friends and family. The artworks produced are mainly acrylic paintings and drawings of life figures in the environment and landscapes. He often features portraits of family and friends in his compositions. Some sculpture has been created in Hebel stone and plaster, and wood carved sculpture is also planned. John accepts commissions.
